My Advice To You

It's a whole lot of fun to sit down at the computer with your children while they ask you to find things for them online. They get a real kick out of looking at pictures of dogs, cats, horses, cows, pigs, sheep, etc...HOWEVER, if your children ask you to find "chicks" on the internet, take a moment to remember this post. You will see more than cute, fuzzy little baby birds when you look for chicks on the internet.

  1. Too funny! That's like us..we like to watch tons of educational shows on YouTube and needless to say, if you type in something as basic as numbers..you get some interesting things:).

  3. I will also caution you on the word...apples. LOL It's sad what things will come up.

  4. Bunnies, too. Especially bunnies.

I put the parental filters on high when I do searches for my kids. It's no fun when you forget to do that. :(

  5. I can't believe all the other words that have inappropriate search results. I never would've imagined that numbers, puppies, apples, and bunnies could be considered vulgar. Can I just go back into my sheltered little innocent hole and hide?

The message board over at www.backyardchickens.com is a wonderful family friendly place as well.

  7. As a former teacher I know this too well. Even with safe eyes on our computer there is some sneaky stuff that gets through. Have a great day!
